DEAF MUSEUM PROJECT - in practice

Welcome to our OER, part of the Deaf Museum project. In many parts of Europe there are museums that focus on Deaf History and Culture (hyperlinks) but there still does not exist a sign language guide that can help us if we want to set up an exhibition about Deaf History and Culture. This website was born out of this need. It was planned and built in collaboration with many European partners.

Now we can explain to you the use of the website that will help you create your own exhibition on Deaf History and Culture.

- The website is subdivided into sections that will guide you through the stages of setting up your Exhibition.
- On the right you see the the sections, the name appears if you slide over them with the mouse; you can also find them in the menu above.
- Bottom left you can choose your language of preference.
- If you want to read the text of the video you can click read text, the text in the chosen language will appear at the bottom.

- Within every section you can read the text of the video clicking read text; download further material from read more or click on case study.
- Every section is connected with one or more case studies taken from the direct experience of the partners when organizing their exhibition.
- So what should you do now? Give yourself plenty of time to watch and/or read every section; go more in depth – if you so wish – reading the pdfs; watch the case studies to understand what issues came up and how partners resolved them.

When you are sure to have understood all of the Sections, fill in all the boxes of MY EXHIBITION

- This document MY EXHIBITION will in this way become a customized Map of YOUR EXHIBITION. You will simply have to follow it in order to set up your own exhibition.
